Types of therapy

Drawing upon over 25 years of experience, I offer many different types of therapy. Having a wide range of tools available allows me to tailor a treatment plan specifically designed for your needs.

By exploring the different types of therapy outlined below, we can create a personalized strategy that fosters lasting positive change.

Treatment modalities

  • 12-Step facilitation: Our sessions will complement your participation in a 12-step program like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA). Together, we’ll walk lthrough the steps toward abstinence and long-term recovery.
  • Client-centered therapy: We’ll xplore your thoughts and feelings, helping you embrace your strengths and inner wisdom.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT equips you with tools to manage negative thought patterns and their impact on emotions and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking styles and replace them with more balanced and empowering beliefs.
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT): This approach helps you understand and process underlying emotions to build healthier relationships with others.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): IFS views the mind as a system of parts, each with its own role. We’ll work together to identify and understand these parts, fostering inner harmony and reducing internal conflict.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): IPT helps you analyze and work through relationship challenges to improve your overall mood and sense of connection.
  • Mindfulness-based therapies: These therapies integrate mindfulness practices to reduce distress and improve emotional regulation.
  • Motivational interviewing: This collaborative approach helps you explore your ambivalence about change and develop your own motivation to achieve your goals.
  • Psychodynamic therapy: We’ll explore how past experiences may be influencing your current thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy: In this future-oriented approach, we’ll identify clear goals and  practical steps to achieve them.
  • Supportive therapy: Supportive therapy provides emotional support and guidance for facing life’s challenges.

Your personalized path to well-being
